My sister is getting married. Just after her engagement, her and her betrothed announced it would be a destination wedding, in Kauai. Must admit that I was a little disappointed. The odds of us being able to afford a trip to Hawaii were slim, let alone for all of us.
Then we got our federal tax refund. I used the entirety to purchase airline tickets and our lodging with a little left over (more on that later).
Since then I have been planning! For those who don't know me, I'm a planner. From my research, I learned this was the best guidebook (book on the left in the photo).
I have tabbed the book with colored tabs for each region of the island. Tentative plans have been made to travel to a region each day (one for the West, North, South and East. I have a wish list of places I want to see in each region.
Then there is the travel journal (right in the above picture). I found it on Amazon.
It has enough space for four trips. I have that tabbed as well. There are pages for: reservations and to dos, packing list, places to visit, trip itinerary, then seven pages of "daily adventures."

I have a few things written in there, and the region of the island that we plan to visit each of the days. Much of that I could fill out ahead of time.
What I'm looking forward to most is filling in these pages:
I love how it has places for the weather, what things you were seeing, your meals. I can't wait to fill each of these out with our adventures.
The other big thing I spent money on with our refund was an authentic Luau. We picked this one as well as the Fern Grotto tour.
I have a countdown on the home screen of my phone (123 days from today)! Can. Not. Wait.
Oh, and my sister is getting married at the Kauai Beach Resort & Spa, that's on the 25th (126 days!) Can't wait for that either.
