1. I am thankful for my faith. We had a pet pass on this last week and I am so grateful that my girls understand that death isn't the end for us. I can't be sure that the same thing applies to our rat pets, but my kids don't need to know that. I can tell them that their pets will be in heaven waiting for them. The discussion was still difficult but being able to talk to them about heaven made it a little easier.
2. I am thankful for the gloves that my daddy and sister sent me. With highs in the low 20's this week, it's been very nice to have slightly warmer hands. I won't say warm because, lets face it, when it's this cold no part of me stays warm when I'm outside!
3. I am thankful for the Christmas assistance programs out there. We have had a really rough year financially and it is a definite blessing to know that we have help from a generous community to give our girls an amazing Christmas. The last time we needed help this happened. Even though I am not expecting that again, I am so grateful that we can get help when we need it.
4. I am thankful for a couple understanding managers. They have been so wonderful in allowing me adjust my schedule to be able to drop my girls off at school. Anytime I need to come in late or go home early for one reason or another (school or kid related) they never complain. I love not having to worry about them asking me to put my job before my family. Both of my managers understand that my kids are so important to me.
5. I am thankful for Josh and Angel, my sitters turned friends. They have been such an amazing blessing to us. We all went up last weekend and got us a Christmas tree. First time we have ever done that. We all almost froze, but it was fun!
The red you see is Jimmy. Josh is in camo (works well!) lol |
The one we ended up with =) |
