Thankful Tuesday

Counting my blessings again this week. Here are just a few of the things I am thankful for today:

  1. I am thankful for my job. A close family friend just got news that he is among those in the latest layoffs at his company. I feel so bad for him because he and his family have been in this situation before. Thankfully they are a bit more financially stable this time.
  2. I am thankful that my oldest can write now. I have been really struggling with her and her bad attitude. Well, Sunday I was just done. So, I made her sit in time out until I could figure out what to do with her. I finally decided that she was old enough to write me a letter. The first one she wrote just said "I'm sorry mom" but then I made her write why having a bad attitude was wrong. I think this worked because for the rest of Sunday the whining didn't happen.
  3. I am thankful for the day I had Sunday. The only thing I had to do was go to church. Normally I would have probably sat on the couch, but I actually got a lot of stuff done!
    * finished all my laundry and even got it put away
    * emptied and refilled the dishwasher
    * cleaned and vacuumed the living room
    * sorted out McKayla's dresser
    * got the summer clothing boxed and into the storage area
    * de-cluttered around the entire house
    Feels so great to have accomplished so much in one afternoon!!
  4. I am thankful that the girls have friends in our new neighborhood. They have been playing with their new friend every day since we moved and I love that I can let them do it and not worry as much as I did at our other house on the busy street.
  5. I am thankful for my crock-pot. I am working on using it more, but it's gonna be a lifesaver when it comes to having dinners ready when it's dinner time.

  1. I'm glad that your daughters are making new friends; they are so much more adaptable than we are. As for number two, you'll find that the older they get, the easier it is to get them to communicate and sort out their feelings even if we don't always like what they say ;)

    I love my crock-pot!

    1. I just tried a pinterest one the other day. I am eating leftovers and probably will be a few more days (since my kids are horribly stubborn! And I am loving the kid friendliness of this area. It's wonderful. We are smack dab in between their elementary school and a local park. =)
