Thankful Tuesday: ABCs of Thankfulness

I found this over at Mystery and Sunshine and thought it would be a fun way to mix up thankful Tuesday. This is my ABC's of Thankfulness:
A. I am thankful that my girls and I are able to be active. There are so many people who don't have that ability and I am just blessed we aren't one of them.
B. I am thankful for my bible. It really is the living word of God and has helped me so much!
C. I am thankful for my sister Colleen. She is really one of my best friends now. I love how she is with my girls. I love how she is when we hang out together.
D. I am thankful for the weekly devotionals that Stephen and I have been doing. I feel like we are starting our relationship off on the right foot this way.
E. I am thankful that I still have a lot of things to be excited about in my life. Things are looking up and I am ready to see what God has in store for me.
F. I am thankful for my family. All of them. Without my family I don't think I would be able to face the things I have been through not just this year but in my life.
G. I am thankful for my girls. I never expected to be raising them as a single mom, but I am glad to have them. They bless me every day.
H. I am thankful for help. I wouldn't be where I am today without the help of my family and friends, both monetarily and through their prayers.
I. I am thankful for ice cream. It's a great treat for this time of year.
J. I am thankful for the junk around my house. I am thankful because that's a sign that we have all that we need and more.
K. I am thankful for kisses. I can't get enough of them!
L. I am thankful for the Lloyds. They are our new pastors and I love them. They have been a breath of fresh air in our church. I have never been so blessed during a church service as I have the past few months.
M. I am thankful for music. It has always been a huge part of my life and I don't see that changing.
N. This is going to sound really shallow, but I am thankful for netflix. I don't have cable right now, nor do I see it being in the budget anytime, but I can afford the $8 a month for netflix and I can watch unlimited movies and tv shows and the girls even have cartoons that they enjoy on there!
O. I am thankful for the great outdoors. I am thankful I'm in a state that has lots to explore and see and I am thankful I am getting the chance to do that.
P. I am thankful for the girls kiddy pool. For less then $20 they can spend an entire day in the water playing. Last year's pool lasted us almost the entire summer and I am praying this one lasts as well.
Q. I am thankful for quiet. I didn't realize until the separation how much I was used to just having the noise of my house and family. Now that I have two whole nights without my girls at home, I am learning to embrace the quiet time and enjoy it.
R. I am thankful for reading. I love that I can "get away" if only for a while. Reading brings me places I may never get to visit.
S. I am thankful for Stephen. The way that he and I came together was nothing short of divine. I thank God for bringing us together. The timing might not be "my timing" but I believe that everything happens for a reason. I am ready to see where God takes us.
T. I am thankful for my "nurse" Tabi. She has been so good about taking my blood pressure when I ask and making sure I am taken care of.
U. I am thankful for understanding coworkers and supervisors. My job is important to me, but I also have a family and they all seem to understand that. They have been willing to cover for me when I come in late or when I have to leave for family problems. Not many jobs do that anymore and I am thankful mine does.
V. I am thankful for visits from friends and family. That includes when I get to go home and visit and when I have people come over here to visit me.
W. I am thankful for access to clean water. I have been reading a book about a family stationed in Kenya and I didn't realize what a blessing it was to be able to turn on the faucet and get clean, safe water.
X. I am thankful that no one in the family has had to have an xray recently. (do you know how hard it is to find something that starts with X??)
Y. I am thankful for yellow. Just seeing it cheers me up.
Z. Zzzz's (this one is the same as Kimberley's, but it was a good one!) I am thankful that my girls are sleeping better, that allows me to sleep better. I function much better with sleep!

  2. Loved your A-Z thankful list! It looks like you are a very blessed person!

I think we all are but we don't always realize it. Exercises like this help us see how very affluent we really are - especially compared to some places in the world. We all need to be grateful.
