Google defines humble as having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance. I am having a really hard time thinking of three gifts humble, at least when it comes to my personality. But when I think about humble gifts as actual physical gifts, makes it just a little easier.
- When I first moved into my own place, my dad and mom really helped me out. They helped me get groceries and some kitchen things I needed. Each gift alone might have been humble, but as a whole, it was amazing. Very generous, especially knowing they don't have a whole lot of extra money either.
- In 2005 my mom made me a cross stitch picture for mother's day (see right). Since then, to this day, I have it on my wall. It is a simple one, nothing super fancy, but it's from her and just touched my heart something special. Still does.
- The crafts that the kiddos do for mother's day at school and church are always super special to me. One that comes to mind (click the link to see the blog post I did about ) is when McKayla and Natalie were in preschool, they pained terracotta pots and gave me flowers in them with a picture and poem. The flowers didn't last long, but I still have the pictures in their handmade frames. It didn't cost much but it was super special to me.
What about you, what is one humble gift you have received?
