This weekend went by so quickly and the week seems to be heading the same direction. What is it about time, the older we get, the faster it goes? I have committed to being a more grateful person and that means that I need to purposefully look for the things and situations I have to be thankful for in my life. Weekly, I list five things I am thankful for. Here are my five for this week:
- I am thankful that I had the opportunity to serve on a jury. I think it is something everyone should do once in their life. To see the judicial system at work, it shows how blessed we are, to have the ability to argue our innocence before a jury of our peers.
- I am thankful that Stephen's grandparents were able to visit this weekend. The girls really enjoy spending time with them. They are blessed to have so many grandparents who love them and want to be around them.
- I am thankful for the music teacher at my girls' school. McKayla had a music performance Friday and it was simply amazing. What that woman can do with a bunch of elementary children, nothing short of a miracle. Plus, she is instilling in them a love and appreciation for music. Beyond grateful for a woman who has a passion for what she does.
- I am thankful for pastors who are passionate about bringing the message. They preach alternating Sundays and go in order of scripture. Right now we are in the book of Malachi and I never realized how much of the old testament could be applied to our lives today.
- I am thankful for such an amazing camera on my phone. I am easily able to document the moments in our lives without having to carry anything extra. I got some amazing shots while we were out and about this weekend.
