Haven is like a safe hiding place. Somewhere you can go and just be yourself. You are safe, protected and somewhere you like being. My haven is my home. I know when I am here, I am surrounded by people I love. Safe in my home. We are warm here (or cool, depending on the season!) Plus there is food here and other creature comforts like my nice warm bed.
Another haven is my faith in Jesus. It reminds me that this isn't what I was created for. God intended us to spend forever with Him. Because of Adam and Eve's decision to sin, we have been separated from God. The great news is that we can be with him forever. All we need to do is live a life for Him. If we love God, we want to be like God. We read his word, study it, live it. Then, we we are done on this earth (or as my church says it "promoted to glory) we can go and be with Him eternally in Heaven, just as He intended. Another benefit for me is that I know I will have amazing company there.
Not only will I get to walk and talk with God, but I can join my mommy. My haven for a long time was in her arms. Having her hug me and tell me it would be okay. Heck, even having her just tell me on the phone that she loved me. I don't have that haven here anymore. But it isn't gone forever. We will be reunited in Heaven and what a party that will be!
Earth isn't my home. We weren't meant to be comfortable here. In fact, if we are living right, things won't be comfortable. But we can rest assured that our haven in Heaven will be eternal and glorious. More amazing then I can even imagine.
