If you would like to learn more about how to share with your kids about tragic events, please visit fredrogers.org. LOTS of amazing resources there to help. |
Help is easy to find, and easy to do. You can help your neighbor by mowing their lawn. Or you can help the single mother at church by offering an afternoon off by watching her children. There are so many ways you can be the help in the world. And that is what we, as Christians, have been called to be. We are to be the hands and feet of Christ on this earth. If Jesus were here right now, I know that he would be helping everyone he could. During this time of high tension in our country between police and the people, it is easy to get caught up in the "he should have done this" or "they shouldn't have done that." Why not just offer your support to both sides. Offer an officer a thank you. Join in a peaceful protest. Be the change. Offer help when it is needed. Be the help that this world so desperately needs.

I love that quote. Great reminder to be the help to those all around us. I really liked the idea behind this post.
ReplyDeleteThank you. This is one thing that has been in the forefront of my mind lately.
DeleteIt's true that often it's times of disaster that bring out the best in people and you do see people stepping up to help. But thanks for the reminder that we should always be looking for ways to help, and that even small gestures can have a big impact. Visiting from FMF.
