Missed Connections

If you go to Craigslist, there is a “Missed Connections” section where you can find some interesting story lines to inspire your writing.

This ad is kind of long, but I love that it isn't sexual (I've never been to the missed connections section, YIKES!) It is a good story to me.

Today, Wednesday July 26th around 11 a.m., I was reminded that there are still good, nay, AMAZING people left in the world and that miracles happen everyday.

I'd like to say THANK YOU again to the man who saved me today. I didn't catch your name, and as I said to you earlier when you paid off my parking tickets & spared my car (which contained all my worldly possessions & occasionally acts as my home) from being towed, words can never express what your generosity means to me, my boyfriend and my little dog.

For the past year, life has been one swift kick in the teeth after another, having lost my newborn son, my home and everything that I called familiar. I have been robbed, stabbed, beaten and forsaken. Thanks to you, today my smile can remain intact. Today, I can catch my breath. Today, you have given me the opportunity to not just survive. Today, my ever wavering faith in humanity has been restored. Again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, a million times over...thank you!

Our paths will probably never cross again but I will never forget you. I will forever pay it forward, in any way I can, whenever I'm met with the opportunity to do so. I am so fortunate to have had your compassion and magnanimity passed on to me and will gladly share it to all that I can.

I can't say anything more and the words I do conjure up seem inadequate in comparison to our deep gratitude so I'll leave it there and just say one more time thank you, kind sir on 6th St who spared my car from being towed & settled my debt with the City of Boise... original post

Just wow. A parking ticket in Boise is around 40 dollars (from what I could find at least!) I don't know how that $40 could change my day like it did this guy's.
