Teachers Change the World

Write about a teacher who had a lasting impact on you.

Really I can only think of one teacher who has had an impact on me still and that would be my high school publications teacher, Mrs Graham. She is the one who took me from a communications class into newspaper. She is the reason I stuck with newspaper for three years. I really believe she is one of the reason that our high school paper did so well for so many years.

I look back at my school years and see so many of my classmates who were in publications classes with me and while I can't say it was her, I can say that MANY of Mrs Graham's students are VERY successful. She was amazing and encouraging and very kind. There was this way she had of being encouraging while still keeping a firm handle on things. We knew we had a deadline but we also knew that she was going to be there with us, helping out if we needed it. She didn't micro manage our paper but let us make it our own and put the stamp of our class on it. That is something that was very important to us. While I can't say that our success is Mrs Graham's teaching, I can say that she had an impact on me wanting to be successful. Other students were far more successful then I am!

There you have it. There are a few other teachers who have had an impact on my life through my children I can talk about, but I will leave that for another day.
