We take our dogs with us when we travel. It is a nice way to include them on our family trips when we can. Thankfully, my sister is willing to let us stay with her (with the dogs). It becomes tricky when you have a VERY ACTIVE jack russell terrier/pit bull mix. We usually give him meds to make him sleepy while we travel but it is still a challenge. Anytime that we stop or slow down or turn or anything, he wants to look out the window and see what is going on. It wouldn't be a problem, but our car is packed quite snugly while we travel. We have a Dodge Journey and the interior looks like this:
This is the front seats
This is the middle row, when you open the back doors, these are right there.
This is the third row. You can see the second row seat "folded" up to allow access. We usually put one of these seats down for more room.
Add in the fact that my dogs like to be by me, it makes things crowded. Here are a few of the pics I took while traveling.
Stephen holding them both, the last hour of our trip.
Lola climbed up on my shoulders behind my neck. This didn't last long.
Both puppers sleeping on the floor. Lola would tuck her head behind my leg (I think to avoid the ac).
It might be a hassle to travel with them, but having them with us on vacation is the best. I love my dogs!
